04: Jami Ul-Alfar Mosque, Second Cross Street, Colombo 01100 Sri Lanka
A most spectacular structure, a spiritual refuge known as Jamiul Alfar Masjid, is located among the hubbub of Pettah, Colombo's central business center. This mosque is notable for its Indo-Saracenic architecture, which has domes in the shape of pomegranates. The Red Mosque got its common name because of its most remarkable feature, which is that each brick is painted either red or white and used in contrasting patterns. However, it appears that due to religious stipulations, Muslim women are not permitted to enter the mosque. There have been numerous requests for a women's section, therefore it would appear that plans are in place to construct one in the future where ladies can worship. Despite being a place of worship for Muslims, the red mosque attracts visitors.
